In the years following the Cold War, installation began on a black-site research facility at an undisclosed location near Loch Long, Scotland.

Its true oversight obscured through layered subcontracts, the facility extended into multiple secured sublevels with access controlled via subsea entry and internal clearance tiers; the lowest levels designated for stabilisation of a recovered object of uncertain origin.

Local reports of irregular activity in the area were dismissed or attributed to routine naval movement.

Over time, the site became known as Glen Nowhere.

In 1998, for reasons unknown, emergency measures were enacted to evacuate personnel and restrict access to the site. Authority quickly shifted to a maintenance division tasked with containment and record suppression.
